1 set of 4-position screw terminals (3.5 mm)
Multi-Function I/O
The MFIO rounds out the already impressive set of I/Os available on the RIO xR3.
This input can be switched into any of 4 different modes:
- Current Loop Input: to measure 0-25mA currents.
- General Purpose Input: in case all other hybrid inputs are busy.
- Pulse/Frequency Counter: to keep track of rapid fire changes.
- Low Power Digital Output: fast acting, digital out.
MFIO
Measures current loop inputs with a maximum range of 0-25mA.
Usually 0-4mA and 20-25mA ranges are reserved to signal error/fault conditions, while current loop inputs use 4-20mA to signal proper operating conditions.

MFIO
MFIO
Switch to general purpose input if one more input is required. Input signal passes through a Schmitt trigger to reduce noise. Limit to signal levels below 36Vdc.

The last mode the MFIO can be switched into is LDPO (Low Power Digital Output).
It is a digital output signal, reacting faster than the latching relays. However, it’s use usually requires an external pull-up to guarantee proper operation.
Not intended to switch external loads. Use as a signal output only.
