AERO simplifies connecting a remote site to the corporate network. It reduces the required steps to a minimum. Connecting far flung sites splits into two parts: a server part, and a client part.
AERO Server
The AERO server installs as software running on a PC, VM or container on the corporate network side. This instance runs behind a firewall. It either has a direct connection to the cellular/mobile network or through the Internet.
AERO Client
The AERO client is a physical device which installs at one or more remote locations. A cellular USB modem establishes a link to the mobile network/Internet. Ultimately, this link terminates at the corporate network.
With both parts up and running, the AERO client establishes a VPN tunnel. This tunnel over the mobile grid bridges the remote to the corporate network. The bridge established by the AERO operates at the link layer – forwarding all traffic.
This allows devices in the corporate network and the remote sites to talk to each other. No need to change the routing or configuration setup.
